The ACHPER SA Board is a voluntary board of 10 members, including two Co-Presidents and a Vice-President. The Board's role is to provide strategic direction and fiscal guidance to the SA branch.

Craig Fosdike OAM - Co-President, LMACHPER Craig is the principal of St Martin de Porres Catholic School. Teaching since 1979, Craig’s contribution to Catholic Education and to Health and Physical Education has been immense, and in 2022 he was presented the highest honor within ACHPER as a Life Member. He is also Life Member of SACPSSA (South Australian Catholic Primary School Sports Association). He has previously been principal of St Joseph’s Memorial School, Norwood and St Anthony’s School, Edwardstown. On the King's Birthday, 2023, Craig received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his service to primary education. Craig is an outstanding advocate for ACHPER and a dedicated leader. |

Carlee Mitchell - Co-President, FACHPER Inspired by her primary PE Teacher, Carlee has always been passionate about pursuing a career as a PE Teacher and educator. The ability to support young people in achieving their potential is what drives Carlee to promote lifelong wellbeing. As a member of the Senior Executive Team at her current school, Carlee brings a skill-set to ACHPER SA in leadership, strategic-planning, and policy development, in addition to curriculum knowledge in Physical Education, Health and Wellbeing, and experience in sports coaching. Carlee was awarded a prestigious National Fellow award of ACHPER in 2021 and won the 2022 Howard Mutton Memorial Award (Secondary Excellence in HPE). |

Kylie Newbold - Vice-President, FACHPER Kylie is a Primary Physical Education Teacher as well as Assistant Principal. Having worked in a range of metropolitan South Australian schools, Kylie brings experience as a primary school specialist PE teacher. Kylie has a passion for all children having the opportunity to experience a quality physical education program. She also enjoys the opportunities to present to teachers at conferences, workshops and within partnerships to enhance the quality of PE teaching in our primary schools, as she loves learning with and from others. In 2021, Kylie was presented the highly regarded Fellow of ACHPER, recognising her contributions to ACHPER. |

Alexander Holbrook - MACHPER
With a passion for Curriculum and Pedagogy, and seeking to improve his own teaching practice by collaborating with others, Alexander enjoys creating content that is relevant and engaging so students can take their skills out into the world post-secondary school. A Secondary educator at Cardijn College, Alexander is passionate about making HPE relevant. He enjoys working in teams with teachers and developing the capacity of our teachers, especially early career teachers to learn from one another. Alexander believes ACHPER is a community of like-minded people where we can come together to learn but also implement our learnings into our primary and secondary schools. Coming from NSW, Alexander has appreciated what ACHPER gave to him in his first few years of teaching and he is looking forward to be able to build upon what ACHPER SA has already created.

Erin McIntee - MACHPER With over 16 years of experience in education, Erin has worked in public, Catholic, regional and metropolitan schools across South Australia, as well as in London. Erin has held Health and Physical Education leadership roles in a range of educational contexts for more than a decade and brings a wealth of curriculum expertise to the ACHPER Board. Erin contributed to curriculum development as part of the Department for Education team, delivering units of work for Year 7–10 HPE. She was honoured with the 2023 Howard Mutton Memorial Award for Secondary Excellence in HPE, recognising her longstanding commitment to professional development within the ACHPER community. As an ACHPER Board member, Erin is focused on fostering a strong collegial network and promoting professional engagement throughout the HPE community. |

Nick Warren - MACHPER With 15 years teaching experience in Health and Physical Education, Nick has a passion and believes that all students are capable of finding a physical activity for life. Planning for the future for students to consider what physical activities they will be involved in later in life is also an integral focus of his. A keen interest and knowledge in Curriculum, Pedagogy & Assessment was uncovered in his early career when he led a state-wide physical activity program. As an author and with an interest to keep learning, Nick continues to want to improve himself but also others that he works with. Being an ACHPER Board Member, he aims to connect with those in the industry who quite often can feel isolated in their schools and help them solve some of these complex issues. |

Paul Langley Paul Langley joined the Board in March 2025 as a appointed Director. Paul is a results-driven executive with extensive experience in leadership, governance, risk management, and high-performance sports. As the inaugural CEO of Care 24-7 (2018–2024), Paul focused on building a business structure, implementing change, developing reporting structures, data analytics, contract negotiations and executions, operational and financial efficiencies, strategic partnerships, and enabling teams to deliver exceptional private emergency medicine. With previous roles including Senior Manager of Risk, Governance and Company Secretary, Paul has led corporate governance, fraud, policy, compliance, and risk management functions, supporting executive teams and boards with best-practice strategies. Paul has experience in leadership roles with the Australian Olympic Teams serving as High-Performance Lead, National Team Manager, and National Assistant Coach (2006–2013, including two Olympic Games) and State High Performance Director/Coach (2006–2023). Paul also serves as President of a Commonwealth and Olympic sport and is a graduate of the AICD, where he has completed executive education at Harvard and UniSA, equipping him with the expertise to drive excellence and results across diverse industries. |

Rachael Wilkins - MACHPER Originally from Victoria, Rachael comes to us with a variety of experience across both primary and secondary school physical education. Spending the last five years at Westminster school, two of those as Head of HPE, Rachael brings to the board a strong focus on the new Stage ½ course and middle years PE. Rachael is a movement advocate, encouraging students to seek physical activity in a way that is meaningful to them and enhances their wellbeing. As a board member Rachael advocates for the engagement of teaching professionals, supporting the development of resources and education as a regular presenter at ACHPER SA conferences. |

Andrew Mittiga - MACHPER With a strong passion for student wellbeing, physical activity, and girls’ education, Andrew is driven by the belief that teaching is about connection, empowerment, and possibility. He is the Student Wellbeing Coordinator (Years 7–12) and a secondary educator at Wilderness School, where he teaches Stage 2 Physical Education and Stage 2 Health and Wellbeing. Andrew is also a SACE Investigation Supervisor for Physical Education and has completed a Master of Education with a specialisation in Adolescent Wellbeing, reflecting his commitment to evidence-informed practice. He is particularly passionate about developing pathways for girls in sport, both in schools and through his role as an Under 18s coach in the SANFLW with North Adelaide. In 2024, he was awarded the Howard Mutton Memorial Award (Secondary Excellence in HPE) in recognition of his leadership and contribution to Health and Physical Education. Actively involved with ACHPER SA, the SACE Board, and community coaching, Andrew values collaboration and sees ACHPER as a professional community that builds capacity, shares best practice, and strengthens HPE across schools.

Matt Schmidt - Executive Director Matt is a successful results-oriented leader with extensive experience in education, event delivery, sports management, business development, marketing and sponsorship. Matt has over 25 years experience with strategic planning and in delivering effective governance leadership. Matt has been the Executive Director of ACHPER SA since 2000. Matt is passionate about raising the profile of Health and Physical Education and Sport in Schools and Community settings. Matt is an advocate for active healthy living and has highly regarded established networks across Australia. Matt has managed a number of projects for ACHPER SA including Sport Australia, Handball Australia, Squash Australia, Netball Australia, Tennis Australia, AFL Max, Department for Education as well as many varied community projects. Matt has strengths in Governance, stakeholder management, marketing, project management, and over 10 years of Directorships of various public, private and not for profit organisations including Squash South Australia, South Australian Cricket Association-Game Development, Uni SA Sport- Chair and past President Concordia Old Collegians Cricket Club. Matt joined the Squash Australia Board in 2019 and was elected President in 2022 and remains in this role today contributing his skills to the sport sector. |

Rick Baldock - Professional Learning Officer Rick has had a distinguished career and prior to working at ACHPER SA, worked as a primary PE and classroom teacher and Department for Education Health & Physical Education (HPE) Curriculum and Policy Officer. Rick led a small team in the development of a Physical Education curriculum in the Arabian Gulf State of Qatar in 2008. He has also worked at the University of SA commercialising research. Rick has co-authored and authored a number of publications including the Sport It fundamental sport skill resource, ACHPER PEP Fitness resource and the Tennis Australia Hot Shots in Schools program. He is a regular presenter both internationally and nationally on various aspects of HPE and sport. A highly regarded Health & Physical Education professional, Rick has managed projects for ACHPER SA with Sport Australia, Squash Australia, Netball Australia, Tennis Australia, AFL Max, SA Little Athletics, Department for Education and various other community initiatives. |

Katie Liebelt - Professional Learning Officer Katie is an experienced and passionate educator who has been an Assistant Principal leading Teaching and Learning for 8 years, a previous Health & Physical Education Leader and a HPE teacher for 23 years. Katie models quality curriculum and pedagogical improvement through leading curriculum development, having been involved in the development of the Department for Education HPE SA Curriculum and as a current member of the SACE Renewal Group. Katie was awarded the Educators SA World Teachers Day HPE Secondary Teacher Award in 2018, along with the Howard Mutton Memorial Award (Secondary Excellence in HPE) in 2017 and 2025. Katie is a very passionate advocate for active and healthy living in the community, and is involved as a leader in sport, administration, coach education, coaching and facility development at a local, regional and state level. She was recognised in 2022 as the SA Sports Volunteer of the Year. Katie is the current ACHPER SA Professional Learning Officer, following a significant contribution as an ACHPER SA Board Member and presenter at State and National Conferences. She has been involved in projects for ACHPER SA including Tennis Australia, Handball Australia and Netball Australia. Katie was recognised as the 2025 ACHPER SA Presidents Award recipient for her contributions. |

Amanda Burnett - Events & Communications Coordinator Amanda has worked at ACHPER SA since 2019 and brings her expertise as an Events Manager for major events including Mother’s Day Classic, Tourrific Prospect, VACSWIM, Corporate Cup and Tour Down Under Family Days. At ACHPER SA, Amanda coordinates professional learning as well as managing the Corporate Cup and finance. Amanda critically understands and values the important role of ACHPER and her experience and dedication is central to the association's ongoing successes. Amanda offers professional friendly service to members and is a most valued part of the ACHPER SA staff. *Currently on Maternity Leave* |

Analissa Benci - Events Coordinator Analissa joined ACHPER SA in 2023, initially as a Corporate Cup casual and a placement student for PE Week. Over the past two years, she has supported numerous conferences and events, transitioning from a part-time staff member in 2025 to a full-time role in 2026. Analissa is a 2025 graduate of the Bachelor of Business (Sport and Recreation Management). Having been involved in the organisation's events throughout her studies, she brings a deep familiarity with the ACHPER SA community to her role as Events Coordinator.

Isabelle Stuart - Events & Administration Officer Isabelle began working with ACHPER SA as a casual in July 2023 for the Corporate Cup and joined the office team in January 2024. Working part-time, her main roles include membership, social media and supporting the office with event and administration tasks. Isabelle is a recent Bachelor of Business (Sport and Recreation Management) graduate. |

Georgia Mallick - Events & Administration Officer Georgia completed a University industry placement with ACHPER SA focussing on the Corporate Cup commencing in May 2025. Following the successful completion of her placement, she has joined the ACHPER SA team part-time. Her main responsibilities include administrative support, social media and providing support for ACHPER SA activities. Georgia is currently studying a Bachelor of Business (Sport and Recreation Management). |

ACHPER SA relies on our dedicated volunteers who give their time to help others and support the work of our organisation.
